Overview In this role you will develop and implement new aluminum sheet products and processes at the Bay Minette plant to improve efficiency and reduce costs. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure products meet requirements and fit the manufacturing system, while driving responsiveness to product issues. You will expand market opportunities and support cross-functional teams through development, validation, and scale-up. You will contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship while shaping innovative solutions for the metal sheet marketplace.

Responsibilities- Develop, introduce and validate new products and processes for the Bay Minette system
- Coordinate with manufacturing, commercial, technical service, labs, and customers to transition new products from development to full-scale manufacturing
- Develop aluminum sheet product lines to improve internal and external performance
- Support metallographic lab analysis of defective materials; participate in problem solving for product/process issues
- Lead or participate in cross-functional problem solving using metallographic, statistical and process knowledge
- Develop and improve product masters used for Bay Minette manufacturing
- Respond promptly to inquiries about product capabilities, histories, or issues linked to Bay Minette-produced metal
- Provide quality incident support at customer locations or on-site; maintain critical metrics and information for teams
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant aluminum fabrication
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to resolve problems efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic metallographic assessments of defects
- Proficiency in statistics and/or statistical process control
- Proven track record in leading and managing multi-location, multi-cultural projects
- Ability to work remotely with minimal direction
