Overview In this role you will lead the development of next generation, world class sortation and transportation systems within Amazon's Global Engineering Services. You will design and specify solutions for fulfillment, sortation, and distribution networks across multiple sites, including retrofit, green-field, and brown-field projects. You collaborate with cross functional teams and external partners to deliver safe, high productivity, cost efficient designs. The role combines hands on engineering with strategic decision making to shape scalable, automated material handling solutions.

Responsibilities- Develop innovative, low-capital solutions that are safe and productive for associates
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to generate cost effective designs for fulfillment, sortation, and transportation networks
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with influencing, negotiating, and clear communication
- Assess mechanical, electrical, and controls requirements to balance business value and technology risk
- Support trade-off decisions considering business goals, throughput, quality, efficiency, maintainability, and operability
- Identify standards and drive consistent application of engineering changes across North America
- Build strong relationships with FC and Sort Center leadership and operations teams across sites
- Transform raw concepts into clear technical documentation and compelling business cases for executives
Key requirements- 5+ years in design, innovation, R&D or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent
- Experience leading engineering design projects
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
- Experience with design and innovation and cross functional project management
