Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer in Southern California, you lead large, complex civil infrastructure and site design projects within a 100% employee-owned firm. You drive project scope, schedule, quality, and client coordination while mentoring engineers and expanding the regional civil practice. You will build client relationships, help shape business development, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across survey, transportation, municipal, and site development work. Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee large, complex civil infrastructure and site design projects; act as primary contact for teams and clients
  • Collaborate with BD staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors during pursuit opportunities
  • Assist with scopes of work, fee calculations for proposals, and contract reviews
  • Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines
  • Prepare monthly billings and update financial metrics
  • Ensure designs meet owner and IMEG standards, codes, and quality controls; manage milestones and construction support
  • Coordinate design staff and scheduling through all design and construction phases; lead progress meetings
  • Lead project interviews/presentations; resolve client and construction concerns; manage change orders
  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff; develop client relationships and contribute to business development
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BS) and Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 14+ years in building design consulting; 16+ preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in project management; strong technical mastery in civil engineering
  • Ability to mentor, train, and lead others; strong quality control capabilities
  • Proven ability to sell work and develop client relationships; excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
