Overview As Principal Electrical Engineer, you are the Resort's top technical authority for electrical power distribution and life-safety systems. You shape technical direction, standards, and long-range infrastructure strategy across the Electrical discipline. You solve complex, high-impact problems and provide expert guidance to engineers, designers, and executives. This role places you at the nexus of cross-functional collaboration, regulatory engagement, and strategic planning to advance reliability and resilience. You'll drive essential projects and engage with AHJs, utilities, and industry forums to elevate the resort's electrical engineering standards.

Responsibilities- Lead high-risk, complex projects and set execution strategy
- Mentor and act as technical authority for electrical engineers resort-wide
- Represent A&FE electrical engineering in cross-functional and executive discussions
- Develop functional strategy for electrical engineering within capital and sustaining portfolios
- Originate and standardize electrical design guidelines and master specifications
- Evaluate long-range lifecycle cost, risk, and reliability for distribution, emergency power, and resiliency
- Provide expert direction on power distribution topology, protective relaying, and arc-flash mitigation
- Serve as final PE of record for complex designs and submittals
- Lead root-cause investigations of significant outages or failures
- Maintain and interpret the California Electrical Code, IEEE guidelines, and Title 24 for resort-wide standards
- Communicate with regulators and industry leaders to advocate for sound electrical strategies
- Build executive relationships across Resort teams and external partners
- Represent the Resort in codes-and-standards development activities
Key requirements- 12+ years in electrical engineering with design, construction, or consulting
- Recognized standing in the electrical engineering profession (publications, committees, or equivalent)
- Experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and contributing to strategy
- Expert-level understanding of California Electrical Code, IEEE low voltage guidance, and Title 24
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and lighting design; good judgment on delegation
- Experience motivating and overseeing junior engineers and vendors
