Overview In this role you represent the owner on medium- to large-scale construction projects in the DC metro area, guiding cost, schedule, and quality. You will lead QA/QC efforts, coordinate with design and contractor teams, and drive issue resolution and closeout. The position emphasizes delivering complex mechanical, electrical, and related systems, including labs, data centers, and secure facilities. You will work with cross-functional teams to manage risk, approvals, and commissioning in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities- Provide pre-construction and on-site owner representation for medium-to-large projects
- Manage cost, schedule, and quality on behalf of the client/owner
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies with the project team
- Review and track project schedules and progress; participate in progress meetings
- Lead or support QA inspections to ensure contract compliance
- Document and track issues; collaborate with contractor, designer, and owner to resolve
- Review change orders for entitlement and price; assist in negotiations
- Coordinate commissioning, punchlist, and project closeout activities
- Ensure closeout requirements, such as training, manuals, warranties, and stock materials, are completed
Key requirements- High school/GED with 15 years of related experience or education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field with 10 years of related experience
- OSHA 30-hour certification (must obtain if not present)
- Knowledge of construction codes, materials, methods, and tools
- Experience in quality control/QA and project controls including scheduling and cost
- Ability to read plans and contract specifications; strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle client interface and reporting
- Ability to obtain/maintain required certifications
