Mechanical Engineer - OnSite Energy & Power (Multiple Locations)

Overview

In this role you contribute to a multidisciplinary project team delivering mechanical designs for a wide range of facilities. You guide concept through design completion, adapting plans to budget and client needs while coordinating with project managers and field teams. You update and verify CAD drawings, prepare data for client presentations and contract reviews, and perform site measurements and inspections. You will work across power, process, healthcare, and institutional projects, applying solid engineering practices to drive timely, compliant outcomes. This position offers exposure to diverse facilities and the impact of robust mechanical design on project success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical designs from concept to design completion for diverse facilities
  • Modify and review production drawings across multiple CAD environments
  • Design mechanical components per project needs and manager specifications
  • Research and compile project data for managers and presentations
  • Update drawings to reflect corrections and ensure CAD accuracy (AutoCAD, BIM/Revit)
  • Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients
  • Coordinate with project teams to adapt designs to budget constraints and client needs
  • Participate in project-related testing, analysis, and documentation
  • Support compliance with applicable codes, standards, and policies
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred)
  • Alternative option: FE exam completed with Bachelor's in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from ABET accredited program and 3 years of experience (consulting preferred)
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 years of experience (consulting preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit)
  • EIT Certification preferred
