Overview In this role you lead a security team at SAIC's San Diego facilities, shaping and executing the security program to protect assets, personnel, and information. You will set goals, guide the team, and drive security policies in alignment with industry standards and government requirements. You'll manage risk assessments, incident response, and daily security operations while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to foster a culture of security. This role offers hands-on leadership in a mission-driven environment with cross-organizational impact.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of security professionals, setting goals and evaluating performance
- Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks
- Coordinate incident response, investigations, and corrective actions
- Oversee day-to-day security operations including access control, surveillance, and patrols
- Collaborate with other departments to address security concerns and promote security awareness
- Identify security risks, conduct audits, and implement risk mitigation measures
- Engage with government and program leadership; maintain relationships with PSOs and ISR
- Provide security training, briefings, and CONOPS planning
- Support prime/subcontractor security operations and ensure compliance with manuals
- Maintain documentation across corporate/government systems and classification guidance
- Communicate security updates to leadership and stakeholders
- Assist in planning and documenting security operations and contingencies
- Coordinate with DoD, DoE, CBP, FAA, DoT, DISA, USNavy/USAIR force programs
- Support IND/OPSEC and COMSEC activities
- Assist with program meetings and interface with program offices and senior leaders
- Ensure readiness for inspections and maintain eligibility for required clearances
Key requirements- Bachelor,Master, or PhD/JD with corresponding years of experience (minimum Bachelor's with 10+ years)
- US Citizen
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
- DCSA FSO certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience managing a team in security
- Experience with government/industrial security
- Strong knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117/NISPOM and ICD-705
- Familiarity with DoD 5205.07
- Experience with DI and security classifications DD-254
- Knowledge of COMSEC and OPSEC concepts
- Ability to coordinate across multiple government and contractor programs
