Overview As an Electrical Engineer at PCA, you will support multiple mill roles focused on electrical reliability, project execution, or process control. You will collaborate with safety, environmental, quality, and production teams to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize electrical systems. The position blends hands-on maintenance, project planning, and control-system enhancements to sustain efficient, safe operations across mill sites. You will drive technical direction, troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination to deliver impactful improvements. This role offers exposure to outage planning, contractor coordination, and plant-wide process control upgrades with a clear impact.
Responsibilities- Provide technical direction, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for electrical equipment, systems, and maintenance issues
- Develop and improve electrical maintenance strategies, preventive/predictive maintenance programs, and documentation
- Support outage planning, scheduling, contractor coordination, training, spare parts planning, and field support
- Analyze equipment history, repair costs, and failure data to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Coordinate electrical project execution, including scopes, budgets, schedules, material requirements, and vendor coordination
- Coordinate planning, programming, maintenance, and improvement of PLC, DCS, HMI, and related control systems
- Support process improvements and capital projects through design, installation, startup, and tuning
- Maintain safety, environmental, quality, and productivity expectations across assigned areas
- Additional duties as assigned by management
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology or related field
- 0-4 years of experience in electrical engineering
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must have valid driver's license
- Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
