Overview As Director in Risk Advisory, you will lead complex financial crimes investigations and advise on fraud risk, compliance, and institutional integrity. You'll guide multidisciplinary teams across domestic and cross-border matters, applying advanced analytics and forensics to deliver actionable recommendations to executives and legal stakeholders. The role blends high-stakes investigative work with client leadership, regulatory interaction, and thought leadership. Responsibilities- Lead BSA/AML, OFAC, and FCPA risk assessments and compliance program implementations for financial institutions, fintechs, and digital-asset businesses; develop corrective-action plans under regulatory agreements
- Serve as interim Chief Compliance Officer, BSA Officer, or Chief Risk Officer for clients as needed
- Oversee complex investigations into financial fraud, securities misconduct, insider trading, money laundering, and related abuses across jurisdictions
- Apply blockchain analytics, transaction tracing, digital forensics, and OSINT to identify patterns and support defensible conclusions
- Utilize blockchain forensics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) and databases (Accurint, PACER) to produce clear visualizations and litigation-ready exhibits
- Engage regulators, law-enforcement, prosecutors, industry groups, and external counsel with clear reports and materials
- Lead multidisciplinary teams; coach staff, review work, and conduct performance evaluations
- Represent the firm at industry events and contribute to practice development through thought leadership and engagement opportunities
- Manage multiple workstreams, budgets, deadlines, and client expectations in sensitive, high-pressure matters
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of ten years of relevant experience leading complex investigations and risk/compliance matters related to financial crime, fraud risk, cybercrime, securities enforcement, and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing significant, multi-jurisdictional matters from incident through findings, remediation, and stakeholder communication
- Deep knowledge in financial fraud, securities misconduct, insider trading, cyber-enabled fraud, money laundering, ACH/payments fraud, digital assets, blockchain analytics, asset tracing, forensic accounting, or BSA/AML/OFAC compliance
- Experience with financial institutions, capital-markets organizations, fintech or digital-asset businesses, regulators, prosecutors, or law-enforcement
- Ability to translate technical investigative evidence into clear insights for non-technical executives
- Experience building/increasing investigative capabilities, fraud controls, and training programs
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work under pressure
- Expert written, verbal, and executive communication skills; experience authoring expert reports and litigation-ready exhibits
- Analytical fluency with large datasets; experience with SQL, blockchain analytics platforms, link-analysis tools, case-management systems, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python
