Overview As Senior Electrical and I&C Designer at AECOM, you will lead electrical and I&C CAD efforts on power generation projects, including nuclear-oriented work, within a multi-disciplinary team. You'll drive design deliverables, ensure constructability and safety, and coordinate with engineers and project managers across design stages. Responsibilities- Lead Electrical and I&C CAD design for projects of varying size
- Oversee design deliverables and ensure constructability, safety, and project constraints
- Perform complex CAD tasks and coordinate drawings to create integrated project content
- Collaborate with engineers and PMs through feasibility to construction
- Lead discipline CAD design, manage budgets, staffing, and schedules
- Prepare bills of materials and quantity takeoffs
- Utilize data sources (laser scans, LiDAR, survey points) for project modeling and manage related data
- Contribute to business development and proposals
- Create, update, and enforce group standards
- Participate in meetings and travel as required
- Review peers' work for quality and consistency
- Support design progression from feasibility through construction
- Present in meetings and client discussions
- Lead remote teams and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders
Key requirements- BA/BS + 6 years of relevant power or industrial experience or equivalent
- Experience in Common Data Environments (ProjectWise, BIM 360, ACC)
- Physical design experience for power generation or industrial facilities
- Ability to learn new software and adapt to data integration in 3D models
- Experience with CadWorx, Revit, SolidWorks, ReCap, NX, AutoCAD Electrical, Elecdes
- Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and SQL
- Experience working in collaborative model environments (Navisworks)
- Field or construction experience
- Strong understanding of electrical design layouts, instruments, wiring, and control systems
- 5+ years as discipline CAD lead
- Proven ability to lead remote teams and manage high-value centers
