Partner Development Manager, Strategic Payment Partnerships

Overview

In this role you will own and grow priority payment method partnerships (notably wallets and BNPL) to expand Stripe's payments ecosystem. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams to drive joint initiatives and accelerate distribution and adoption for Stripe users. You'll translate industry insights into product and partnership plans, shaping how Stripe supports evolving payment methods. This is a mission-driven, impact-oriented role that combines partnerships, product strategy, and go-to-market execution to propel Stripe's growth.

Responsibilities
  • Manage one or more priority payment method partnerships and launch offerings that benefit Stripe users
  • Lead go-to-market strategy and enablement for defined payment methods, products, or geographies
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to align on shared goals
  • Execute partner and deal management with clear milestones and metrics
  • Use industry knowledge to inform partnership and product plans and execute agreements
  • Coordinate with Risk, Legal, Product, and Engineering to implement partner initiatives
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing to boost payment method adoption
  • Identify partner advocates and align Stripe value proposition across teams
  • Maintain an operational mindset with clear goals and efficient processes
Key requirements
  • 8+ years in strategic partnerships, business development, GTM growth, corporate development, payments, or related field
  • Experience owning partner relationships, channel/distribution initiatives, and cross-functional programs
  • Experience leading commercial negotiations with sound judgment on trade-offs
  • Experience in a product-centric environment with internal/external dependencies
  • Experience with payments, wallets, BNPL, or financial services preferred
  • Strong analytical and operational skills with ability to define goals, manage multiple workstreams, and derive insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication, credibility, and stakeholder influence
  • High agency with comfort in ambiguity and escalation when needed
