Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at NV5, you will design and supervise security, communications, audiovisual and life-safety systems for new builds, renovations, and upgrades. You will lead multi-project efforts, coordinate with design teams, and ensure code compliance and quality. The role blends hands-on design with construction administration, offering impact across technology and security domains. Responsibilities
  • Lead field surveys, assessments, studies, and preparation of engineering deliverables
  • Prepare and manage concept, programming, construction docs, specs, and project close-out for successful delivery
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, and direct CAD staff; ensure documentation in Revit
  • Provide oversight for code compliance and project schedules/budgets
  • Coordinate with engineering/architectural teams and guide client technology selections
  • Review construction drawings for bidding/permits; perform construction administration including RFIs and punch lists
  • Manage staff engineers and project communications; support business development
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and standards and apply to projects
  • Ensure timely delivery within budget and uphold NV5 quality standards
  • Travel to job sites as required and work in hybrid/in-person settings
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with EE minor
  • 10+ years in engineering, design, and construction disciplines
  • Professional Engineering licensure or eligibility
  • Strong planning skills combining people, data, and software
  • Ability to manage budgets, hours, and schedules
  • High proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication; adept with project management tools
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment
  • Professional integrity and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
