Overview As Head you will lead the Borch Department within Purdue's College of Pharmacy, advancing learning, discovery, and engagement. You will shape strategic direction, mentor faculty, and cultivate interdisciplinary research across Purdue's science and health-focused campuses. You will oversee budget planning, recruit top faculty, and foster collaborations with institutes like PIDD and PICR to drive drug discovery and mechanisms of action research. This role combines scholarly leadership with program development and teaching responsibilities, offering a platform to elevate the department's impact. Responsibilities- Provide fiscal management and participate in annual budget planning
- Develop and implement the department's strategic plan
- Mentor and support faculty, especially new hires
- Lead recruitment and hiring processes for new faculty
- Collaborate with the Dean, administrative staff, and other department heads
- Foster interdisciplinary activities and collaborative research
- Manage graduate courses and mentor PhD students (teaching up to 3 credit hours/semester)
- Teach undergraduate and professional courses as appropriate (up to 3 credit hours/semester)
- Provide leadership and enthusiastic support for Pharm.D. and B.S.P.S. programs

Key requirements- Earned doctorate in Pharmacology or Medicinal Chemistry (or related discipline)
- Strong research productivity with peer-reviewed funding
- Experience in teaching at professional, graduate, or undergraduate levels
