Overview In this Production Underwriter role, you will market and underwrite assigned lines of business, handling policy pricing, risk classification, and broker interactions. Responsibilities- Review and price policies per underwriting guidelines and authority
- Use underwriting tools to determine classifications, rates, and premiums
- Engage with brokers to gather risk details, negotiate terms, and explain positions
- Manage assigned portfolio in territory including GWP and loss ratio performance
- Create, analyze, and interpret data from reports/dashboards
- Complete underwriting analysis and maintain full underwriting file
- Resolve disputes within territory and review state laws for proper transact
- Participate in departmental educational sessions
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and three-plus years of related insurance experience
- Three years underwriting experience with authority, preferably FI lines
- Proven track record of driving profitable growth
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong negotiation, oral and written communication skills
- IAP CPCU designation preferred
- Detail oriented with initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
