Overview In this Laboratory Manager role, you will oversee the operational and technical activities of the Critical Care/Lab areas across assigned sites, ensuring high-quality patient care. You will lead staff, QA programs, and regulatory compliance efforts to meet CAP and Joint Commission standards. You will identify service issues, drive corrective actions, and implement performance improvement initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align laboratory services with the hospital's mission and patient-centered goals. Responsibilities- Oversee operations and technical activities for assigned lab areas across multiple campuses
- Manage employee performance and department quality assurance programs
- Investigate patient service issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and accrediting bodies (CAP, The Joint Commission)
- Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives with outcome assessments and action plans
Key requirements- Five (5) years of related professional experience
- Two (2) years of supervisory or progressively responsible leadership experience
- Formal education: Bachelor of Science in a relevant area; transcripts/equivalency required
- Certification/registry as MLT/MT/MLS generalist, Cytotechnologist, or Histotechnologist (e.g., ASCP)
