Overview In this role you will serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and academic community, building trusted relationships with HCPs to disseminate clinical data responsibly. You will contribute to the medical plan and strategy, support external stakeholders' needs, and share emerging data in response to inquiries. You'll engage Thought Leaders in hematology, sickle cell, thalassemia, and transplant, and act as a scientific ambassador at congresses, while ensuring compliant, data-driven engagements and CRM-driven planning.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders and HCPs in hematology, sickle cell, thalassemia, and transplant care
- Incorporate Scientific Engagement Model (SEM) in interactions to improve quality and effectiveness
- Integrate medical plan into territory planning and capture feedback in CRM to shape strategy
- Utilize CRM/data analytics tools to document interactions and optimize future TL engagements
- Discuss and present disease state and product information to external stakeholders at an advanced level
- Support payers understanding and impact on patient care delivery in the region
- Assist clinical development operations by understanding IB content, nominating trial sites, and sharing end-of-study data with investigators
- Represent Vertex at medical congresses with abstract coverage and TL interactions, and lead congress debriefs and logistics as MSL lead
- Mentor/train less experienced colleagues and assist with onboarding
- Ensure all activities comply with Vertex policies and complete administrative tasks (CRM entries, expenses, calendar, etc.)
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of experience as an MSL or in medical affairs in pharma/biotech
- Strong knowledge of hematology, sickle cell, thalassemia, and transplant therapeutic areas
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory environment
- Proficient in CRM and data analytics; able to plan and analyze field activities
- Ability to present clinical information credibly in diverse settings
- Fluent in English and local language; valid driver's license; willingness to travel up to 70%
- Experience with payers and health economics/outcomes research
- Bachelor or advanced degree in biomedical or life sciences (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD)
- Experience with IB content and SIV meetings is helpful
