Overview

In this role you will drive electronics engineering for the US Navy FBM D5 Life Extension program, focusing on avionics hardware, test and verification. You will join the Missile Systems Engineering & Integration Team to diagnose hardware failures, improve designs, and support integration across testing and customer sites. You will work with cross-functional experts to understand hardware, perform circuit simulations, and lead documentation efforts. This is a hands-on role with strong leadership responsibilities and a clear impact on system reliability and mission readiness. You will contribute to a high-profile defense program in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate hardware failures during acceptance testing at component, PCB, and package levels
  • Apply circuit design and troubleshooting to develop and improve electronics hardware
  • Assess and troubleshoot existing avionics hardware
  • Perform circuit simulations using tools like ORCAD PSPICE
  • Create and maintain electronic drawings and related avionics documentation
  • Participate in technical reviews and audits
  • Support avionics package design, development, integration, test, and verification activities including requirement flow-down
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Authorities to understand hardware and systems
  • Assist with investigations and tests at customer and supplier sites
  • Provide technical leadership to junior electronics engineers
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in circuit design, troubleshooting, and/or circuit analysis
  • Experience performing failure investigations on electronic hardware (CCA, unit, and system level)
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (US citizenship required)
  • Excellent teaming and communication
  • Leadership and ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences
  • Adaptability and initiative in solving complex problems
