Overview

In this role, you will support KPMG's actuarial management group for group and health insurance clients, building and validating reserves, risk adjustment factors, and actuarial values. You will develop models, manage data and deliverables, and mentor junior staff. You will also liaise with clients and senior leadership to communicate technical matters. This position combines deep actuarial work with client-facing collaboration within the Audit practice, contributing to data-driven solutions and meaningful impact.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to the actuarial management group for group and health insurance clients
  • Calculate reserves, risk adjustment factors, and actuarial values for plan designs
  • Assist with project planning, deliverables, and technical writing
  • Develop and project actuarial models using actuarial software
  • Program and manipulate databases for experience studies and data management
  • Supervise and mentor associates, new hires, and interns on engagements
  • Act as a liaison between clients and upper management
  • Identify and communicate technical matters to clients and upper management
Key requirements
  • Minimum three years of recent actuarial work experience in a professional services environment with actuarial software
  • Minimum one year of experience with U.S. GAAP statutory financial reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, applied statistics, financial analysis, insurance, or mathematics
  • Passed two actuarial exams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with limited direction
  • Strong understanding of group and health insurance products; proficient in Excel and R
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, ACA, group health, long term care, or supplemental health products
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Mentorship and leadership abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage workload
