Overview As an Applications Engineer, you bridge engineering knowledge and practical customer solutions for RF and data communications. You collaborate with sales, customers, and product development to assess needs, design solutions, and provide technical support. You translate complex concepts for diverse audiences, deliver demos and proposals, and help improve products through feedback. This role combines technical depth with customer-facing impact, contributing to reliable solutions and growth.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and technical requirements for RF and data communications
- Provide technical expertise and support during pre-sales and post-sales activities, including design and accurate cost estimating
- Develop and deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and technical proposals
- Customize and configure products to meet customer specifications
- Conduct product testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions and support to customers
- Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams, advocating for customer needs and providing feedback for product improvement
- Stay up to date with industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance product offerings
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles
Key requirements- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the wire and cable industry with RF/Coax experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships and delivering high-quality technical solutions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to travel as needed, up to 80% initially and approximately 60% after the role normalizes
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
