Overview

As Legal Operations Director, you lead Booking Holdings' global legal operations, partnering with brand legal, privacy, and compliance teams to drive efficiency and governance. You will champion AI-enabled tooling, contract and vendor management, and budget oversight, shaping scalable service delivery across four cross-border locations. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team, drive process improvements, and implement dashboards to measure performance. This is a strategic, high-impact role at a growth-focused tech-driven travel leader.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the global legal operations function across multiple brands and locations
  • Drive process improvements, playbooks, training, and knowledge sharing for the Corporate and global Legal teams
  • Test, implement, and govern AI and legal tech to optimize contracts, budgets, and vendor management
  • Oversee the legal department budget, planning cycles, forecasts, and cost efficiencies across brands
  • Manage vendor onboarding, billing compliance, and contract management tools (Legal Tracker, Conga)
  • Lead program and project management, define metrics, and report on team performance
  • Partner with technology teams to implement AI solutions and ensure governance, privacy, security, and adoption
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate legal operations or in-house legal ops within a tech company
  • Ability to design and scale legal ops models across a global enterprise with AI, automation, and legal tech
  • Experience hiring, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and resource allocation
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, outside counsel spend, vendor relationships, and investment business cases
  • Strong executive presence, stakeholder management, negotiation, and ability to navigate competing priorities globally
  • Ability to analyze legal, financial, operational, tech, and risk data and translate into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; proficient in PowerPoint, Google Workspace, Excel, and legal/project tools
  • Preferred: familiarity with legal AI, CLM, matter management, eBilling, workflow automation, analytics, eDiscovery; legal education preferred
