Overview

In this role you will architect electrical systems for advanced robotic platforms across concept to production. You will work closely with software, controls, mechanical, and systems teams to deliver robust hardware powering intelligent automation. You will tackle design, validation, and field deployment challenges, driving reliable performance in industrial environments. This position offers hands-on ownership and opportunities to shape platform architecture in a fast-paced robotics company.

Responsibilities
  • Design electrical architectures for advanced robotic and automation systems
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts, cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and electrical documentation
  • Design power distribution, embedded control hardware, and motor drive interfaces
  • Select and integrate sensors, actuators, embedded controllers, and networks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated robotic platforms
  • Prototype, validate, and troubleshoot hardware throughout development
  • Support manufacturing with production docs, BOMs, ECOs, and test procedures
  • Lead design reviews and establish electrical engineering best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform architecture decisions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related
  • 7+ years designing electrical systems for robotics or complex electromechanical products
  • Concept-to-production development experience
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design
  • Multi-board embedded systems and electrical architectures
  • Motor control, power distribution, and actuator interfaces
  • Industrial protocols: CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, SPI, UART, I2C, RS-485
  • Sensor integration: encoders, load cells, IMUs, proximity sensors, vision systems
  • Schematic capture and PCB tools: Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad
  • Debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers
