Overview In this role you will contribute to designing and detailing structural systems for power generation and industrial projects, from concept through construction. You will collaborate with project teams to adapt designs to budgets, codes, and client needs, while refining drawings and supporting field inspections. You'll work with CAD/BIM tools and structural analysis software to deliver robust, code-compliant solutions at scale in a dynamic energy sector. This position offers exposure to diverse facilities, including decarbonization and energy storage projects, within a high-performing team.
Responsibilities- Perform structural design from concept through design completion
- Modify and review production drawings for various projects
- Design structural components per project manager requirements
- Apply knowledge of structural engineering concepts, codes, and procedures
- Research and compile project-related data for managers
- Update drawings using CAD-related software
- Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration
- Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations
- Comply with company policies and standards
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- May have a related ABET-accredited degree with FE exam; EIT preferred
- 3+ years of structural engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Methodical, analytical, and problem-solving mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with structural analysis programs (RISA 3D), AutoCAD, and BIM (Tekla)
- EIT certification preferred; PE license encouraged
