Overview In this role, you drive translational strategies bridging preclinical research with clinical development to inform decision-making and asset lifecycle management. You will lead preclinical programs, work across Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams, and mentor junior scientists within a highly collaborative environment. You'll leverage AI-powered platforms and single-cell/multi-omics approaches to generate actionable insights that shape the portfolio's direction. Responsibilities- Lead preclinical programs from hypothesis generation through execution and integrate findings into clinical strategy
- Support early clinical and/or late-stage or marketed programs, translating clinical insights back to research
- Design and execute research programs with Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams as part of IEGP
- Formulate hypotheses independently and conduct experiments using murine and human immunology approaches
- Develop novel in vitro and in vivo assays and apply advanced technologies (single cell, multiomics, imaging)
- Lead cross-functional collaborations and manage stakeholder relationships across a global matrix
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Stay abreast of scientific advances and contribute to group strategy
- Maintain laboratory activity while providing scientific leadership; bench engagement as needed
- Ensure safety, proper laboratory conduct, ELN documentation, and compliance with conduct policies
Key requirements- PhD with 8+ years of relevant experience in academia or biopharma (or equivalent: Master + 10 years; Bachelor + 12 years)
- Experience leading preclinical research projects or as a key contributor to clinical programs
- Proven translational research track record supporting clinical development and/or lifecycle management
- Strong expertise in human and murine immunology and inflammatory disease pathways
- Experience with single-cell approaches (flow cytometry, scRNA-seq), molecular techniques, and multi-omics
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional, matrixed environments with Development, Medical Affairs, and/or Commercial teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication across diverse audiences
- Collaborative team player with mentorship capabilities and commitment to developing junior scientists
