Overview As Senior Sales Manager, Retail you drive profitable growth across multiple geographies and key accounts by leading inside and outside sales teams. You own strategic customers, market development, pricing, merchandising, and new business opportunities, partnering with cross-functional teams to translate Baldor's assortment into targeted programs. You will shape territory strategies, manage margins, and ensure disciplined sales execution to accelerate independent and regional retail growth. Responsibilities- Lead and develop inside and outside sales teams across multiple markets
- Own revenue, gross margin, case growth, retention, new business, and account penetration targets
- Develop market/territory strategies and identify white-space opportunities
- Maintain direct relationships with strategic retail accounts and senior executives
- Create growth plans across locations, categories, SKUs, promotions, and wallet share
- Drive pricing and margin execution, address leakage and unfavorable terms
- Collaborate with merchandising, procurement, and marketing on seasonal and category programs
- Maintain a robust new-business pipeline and participate in high-value prospects, RFPs, and opportunities
- Establish a regular operating cadence for reviews, planning, coaching, and performance management
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve execution and profitability
- Serve as senior escalation point for customer and team issues
Key requirements- 8+ years of progressive sales or commercial leadership experience; food distribution, produce, grocery, retail, CPG, or perishable categories preferred
- 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading sales teams
- Experience managing multiple territories and complex key accounts
- Proven ability to achieve revenue, margin, retention, and new-business targets
- Strong understanding of pricing, profitability, and account planning
- Strong executive communication, presentation, coaching, and cross-functional leadership skills
