Overview In this role you will design precision mechanical systems for semiconductor equipment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, stability, and manufacturability. You will translate concepts into drawings, maintain BOMs, and participate in design reviews. You will work with SolidWorks, SAP/ECTR, and ensure SEMI/ISO compliance. This position supports scalable lithography, wafer bonding and packaging at SUSS MicroTec.

Responsibilities- Generate design concepts, detail and assembly drawings
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances
- Ensure designs meet precision, stability, thermal control, and vibration requirements
- Review and modify designs for manufacturability
- CAD & BOM creation and maintenance with SolidWorks, SAP, ECTR
- Follow internal product development processes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SEMI, ISO) and internal quality requirements
- Participate in design reviews and FMEA
Key requirements- Three or more years of design engineering of precision machinery, preferably in the semiconductor equipment industry
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant technical degree)
- Fundamental knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes
- Thorough knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and ISO standards
- Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems for document, material, BOM and revisions - preferably SAP and ECTR
- Knowledge of SemiSpec standards a plus
