Design/Construction Project Manager III - San Francisco

Overview

In this role you will manage design and construction efforts for basic-to-moderately complex healthcare facilities and refurbishments, with cumulative budgets typically between $25-50 million. You will define project parameters, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure client-service KP goals are met through design, construction, and close-out. You'll guide design stages for medical/regional facilities, compare development schemes economically, and coordinate permits, contracts, and on-site teams under KP leadership. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position shaping project outcomes from start to finish.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage project plans (scope, schedule, interdependencies, resources) from initiation to close-out
  • Oversee project financials for medium-size projects and monitor performance against plan
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external resources and project team members
  • Manage vendor performance, contract negotiations, and review invoices and change orders
  • Ensure regulatory permits are procured timely and align with policies and procedures
  • Communicate goals and status to stakeholders and leadership; facilitate decisions and escalation as needed
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and trigger events with appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and maintain stakeholder alignment across teams and vendors
  • Provide guidance during design stages and support organizational change management (adoption, training)
Key requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of construction and/or design project management experience
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with three (3) years of relevant PM experience or minimum six (6) years of PM experience
