Overview In this role you will drive Java/J2EE and microservices-based solutions within a consulting-style IT environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess client pain points, shape design and deployment strategies, and lead architectural perspectives for microservices initiatives. You will tackle performance, capacity planning, and integration across Tomcat/WebLogic stacks while mentoring staff. This is an opportunity to influence large-scale IT delivery for US cable IT systems and showcase thought leadership.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in assessments focusing on client pain points alongside the team
- Evaluate design, code, build and deployments for microservices initiatives
- Design, develop and deploy web applications on Tomcat and WebLogic
- Contribute to performance engineering, capacity planning and tuning
- Support architecture decisions and drive independent projects from an architectural standpoint
- Mentor staff and internal consulting teams
- Engage in travel as required in a management consulting context
Key requirements- 7+ years in Java/J2EE, Spring, JSP, JUnit, Jenkins
- 7+ years of web services experience (SOAP/REST)
- 2+ years hands-on Microservices development
- 3+ years experience with US Cable MSO IT systems
- 3+ years in assessment support related to Microservices
- 5+ years in design, development and deployment of web apps on Tomcat/WebLogic
- 3+ years JDBC/Hibernate/iBatis and caching techniques
- 3+ years performance engineering, capacity planning and tuning
- 3+ years thought leadership, mentoring staff and internal consulting
- willingness to travel for client engagements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or 3 years progressive experience in lieu of education
