Overview In this role you lead the electrical discipline on multiple data center projects, guiding design through pursuit, design, and construction phases. You serve as the engineer of record and mentor junior staff, while supporting proposals and business development. You design power distribution, lighting, telecom, and fire alarm systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver construction-ready drawings and impactful data center solutions.

Responsibilities- Lead the electrical discipline across concurrent data center projects through pursuit, design, and construction phases
- Serve as engineer of record and mentor electrical staff on data center design specifics
- Support proposals and business development; design power distribution, lighting, telecom, and fire alarm systems
- Direct design teams to produce construction-ready drawings with inter-discipline coordination
- Ensure designs meet capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, safety, constructability, and cost goals
- Travel to project sites for site surveys, data collection, and client collaboration
- Develop industry relationships with other design professionals
- Apply knowledge of NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC and IEC/CE/EN standards
- Utilize design/modelling tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power)
- Perform system studies (arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination) and solve complex project challenges
Key requirements- Consulting engineering design experience producing IFC drawings for data centers
- 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering
- State-issued professional engineer license preferred
- Understanding of telecom and fire alarm design (prescriptive and performance-based) and detailed design
- BS in electrical engineering
