Junior Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support accounting and finance activities for ALTIVIA's chemical manufacturing businesses and potential acquisitions. You will gain experience across accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial analysis, and basic accounting, contributing to accurate reporting and organized recordkeeping. You'll work with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and timely financial insights. This is a growth-focused, onsite opportunity that combines hands-on accounting with exposure to broader corporate finance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Process, record, and reconcile customer payments timely
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up per policy
  • Prepare AR aging reports and resolve discrepancies with customers/internal stakeholders
  • Support order-to-cash processes for a growing manufacturing company
  • Review and process supplier invoices with proper coding and approvals
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoicing and PO discrepancies
  • Support payment runs and maintain vendor records
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and performance analyses
  • Collaborate to identify trends/anomalies in financial data
  • Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and other transactional tasks
  • Support audits by gathering documentation and reports
  • Maintain organized financial records per policy
  • Work with teammates to improve processes and efficiency
  • Participate in special projects and back up other roles as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 0-2 years in accounting, finance, or accounts receivable
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving
  • Basic understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA or additional accounting certifications preferred
