Overview

In this role you oversee government-funded programs within Microchip's Government Systems group, aligning contract obligations with budgets and program execution. You will partner with program managers, legal, finance, and BD to manage contracts, financials, and proposals. You'll monitor budgets, forecast costs, and support pricing for government solicitations, ensuring compliance and timely deliveries. The position offers impact across defense, aerospace, and IT infrastructure programs within a global leader committed to development and values.

Responsibilities
  • Support contract reviews and negotiations, ensuring FAR/DFAR compliance and program requirements are met
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews (legal, finance, purchasing, PM) to manage contract risk and fulfillment
  • Maintain contract records, modification tracking, and closeout procedures
  • Monitor program budgets, expenditures, funding allocations, and financial forecasts (burn rates, EAC)
  • Prepare cost estimates, BOMs, and Basis of Estimate for proposals and pricing
  • Support proposal development and pricing strategies for government solicitations
  • Track program financial status, risks, and align execution with contractual commitments
  • Assist program managers in aligning execution with funding and contractual requirements
Key requirements
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (Top Secret/SCI)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience with U.S. Government contracts or federally funded programs
  • Strong understanding of government contracting processes, contract structures, and funding mechanisms
  • Experience with program financial management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams (PM, finance, contracts, technical staff)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
