Overview In this Lead Revenue Accountant role, you will own revenue accounting processes and ensure compliant recognition under US GAAP and ASC 606 for Comscore's contracts. You'll partner with the revenue team and cross-functional groups to support the monthly close, disclosures, and audit requests, driving accurate financial reporting. The position emphasizes ownership, adaptability, and process improvement to scale revenue operations. This role offers impact through shaping revenue accounting practices and contributing to a fast-paced finance team.
Responsibilities- Manage contract entry, revenue recognition, and timely treatment of revenue issues
- Collaborate with Senior Manager on high-priority revenue and close matters, leading projects
- Determine accounting treatment for contracts and other transactions
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue disclosure workbooks
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiencies
- Assist with audit requests and ad-hoc analyses as needed
Key requirements- BA/BS in Accounting and/or Finance, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of revenue recognition, preferably ASC 606
- Attention to detail; strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficient in Excel; working knowledge of MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
