Overview In this role you drive AI and technology content strategy for Deloitte Insights, collaborating with researchers, data scientists, designers, and editors to develop research-led insights. You act as a global journalist for a broad audience, ensuring rigor, credibility, and engaging storytelling across reports, articles, infographics, and videos. You guide content type selection, oversee editorial quality, and advocate for audiences and business priorities. This role blends editing, writing, and multimedia storytelling to shape high-impact, data-driven insights for global leaders.
Responsibilities- Strategize, develop, and execute research and insights projects on prioritized topics for the Deloitte global network
- Act as a journalist on a global beat, building a network of topic experts and advising on content opportunities
- Ensure intellectual rigor and precise language around data sources, methodology, and conclusions
- Evaluate project novelty and alignment with audience needs and Deloitte priorities in the AI era
- Steer storytelling strategy by selecting optimal content types and leveraging multimedia storytelling
- Adapt across roles (ghostwriter, editor, infographic copywriter, scriptwriter) to tell compelling stories
- Advise authors on messaging objectives, audience, and editorial best practices while preserving authors' voice
- Champion business audiences and understand content consumption behaviors
- Steward projects through full content development, coordinating with authors and stakeholders
Key requirements- Minimum 8 years of experience in writing, editing, and copyediting content in American English (business journalism preferred)
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in English, literature, journalism, communications, or similar)
- Deep experience in editing AI and tech articles and research reports
- Exceptional editing and copyediting skills; mastery of US English grammar, AP style, and clear edit communication
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts into accessible terms
- Strong attention to detail and quality; ability to clarify a story's main message
- Journalist's instinct for fact-checking; skepticism about data/methodology; precision in statistics
- Outside-in orientation toward target audiences and their needs/interests
- Versatile editing and writing skills including headlines, web copy, and long-form reports
- Experience creating multimedia content
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; proactive, adaptable, decisive, tactful
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, CMS, and tools like Workfront, MS Teams; Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple projects with quick turnarounds; work independently and in teams
- Preferred: experience in business news or publishing; cross-industry corporate thought leadership; remote global collaboration
