Overview

In this role, you will join the avionics team to verify the electrical functions of high-performance communication systems for Amazon's Leo constellation. You will develop Python-based test software to automate hardware tests, interact with lab equipment, and generate comprehensive verification reports. You'll work closely with PCBA, harness, FPGA, embedded SW, and systems engineers to ensure traceable verification across the design lifecycle. The position offers hands-on testing at scale and a chance to influence test strategy and system readiness. You will operate with high standards and a strong focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop automated functional checkout tests for proprietary hardware
  • Implement data analysis algorithms to compare test results against pass/fail criteria
  • Generate detailed test reports with pass/fail status and insights for the team
  • Conduct test readiness reviews and align with stakeholders on data review
  • Influence overall test strategy and help define system test requirements
  • Maintain requirements traceability during testing and troubleshoot integration issues in real time
  • Collaborate with HW/SW design teams and end-users to ensure test coverage and validation quality
  • Operate with autonomy, solving novel problems at scale
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of board-level design verification experience in aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics
  • 3+ years of experience building test fixtures and complex test systems including integrating test software
  • 3+ years of experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification
  • 3+ years of experience using standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with design or test of switching power supplies, electric motors, sensors, and high-speed electrical signal characterization
  • 3+ years of experience in design verification of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity and protocol compliance
  • Strong debugging/troubleshooting
  • Coordination between engineering, test lab, and technicians
  • Autonomy and problem-solving in complex environments
  • Python-based test software development
  • Automated test sequence design
  • Data analysis and interpretation of test results
