Overview In this role you will support and validate storage system level products, working with the engineering team to test, deploy, and troubleshoot storage solutions. You will help shape product design and lifecycle, coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure quality and regulatory compliance. You'll translate customer requirements into practical improvements for chassis, servers, and related hardware and software configurations. This is a hands-on engineering position located in San Jose, with impact across the product portfolio.
Responsibilities- Assist development of mechanical products by analyzing customer requirements and applying engineering principles
- Evaluate mechanical design of chassis and servers using mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials
- Design and execute testing methods to assure product quality across manufacturing and installation processes
- Support product manager in defining release planning, design, and lifecycle management, including regulatory compliance
- Gather new requirements for Supermicro chassis/server products
- Collaborate with other departments to leverage chassis/server platforms across the portfolio
- Coordinate cross-functional teams for sustaining supports like RMA, Failure Analysis, ECO implementations
- Provide documentation and technical know-how for chassis/server product lines
Key requirements- BS/MS in Engineering or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of system or mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in configuring computer systems
- Familiar with Windows Server and Linux
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Experience in ProE, CAD design
