Overview In this role you will strengthen Shield AI's supplier ecosystem to deliver high-quality mechanical components and engines at scale. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve cost, lead times and quality, while onboarding suppliers to new designs and supporting NPI. You'll travel to domestic and international suppliers to audit, diagnose root causes, and implement continuous improvements. This position combines hands-on engineering with strategic supply chain management in a fast-growing aerospace environment.

Responsibilities- Audit and embed into supplier processes to identify opportunities for cost, lead time, and quality improvements.
- Conduct on-site audits to resolve supplier quality issues or performance challenges.
- Assess and enhance supplier capabilities aligned with engineering and operations priorities.
- Provide technical guidance on part specifications, manufacturing processes and quality measures to suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (delivery, quality, cost) and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure uninterrupted production and delivery.
- Support New Product Introduction by ensuring suppliers meet quality and delivery requirements during development.
Key requirements- 7+ years of experience in mechanical hardware manufacturing and/or manufacturing engineering (focus on composites and injection molding)
- Ability to analyze and explain 2D drawings and critical features of mechanical components
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 50%+ of the time
