Overview

As a Ports and Marine Project Manager, you lead maritime projects and small capital programs, coordinating disciplines and guiding teams to meet client goals. You'll work within the Maritime group, collaborating with analysts, planners, and engineers to deliver diverse waterfront solutions. You'll develop technical concepts for proposals, designs, and client presentations while mentoring junior staff. Your work drives safe, efficient port and coastal projects for authorities and private clients. This role offers growth, cross regional exposure, and a path to shape WSP's maritime impact.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff engineers and task leads; perform self performed calculations and prepare drawings/specifications
  • Prepare technical studies, reports, and review the work of staff engineers
  • Oversee calculations, cost estimates, drawings, specifications, and reports; conduct QA checks
  • Manage marine facility projects (terminals, DoD, port authorities, etc.) and coordinate multi discipline teams
  • Lead project reviews, client meetings, and design charrettes; support business development and marketing
  • Maintain positive client relationships; contribute to technical proposals, presentations, and negotiations
  • Uphold safety and company policies; adapt to changing priorities and travel as project needs
  • Provide mentorship and participate in hiring/evaluation of junior staff
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant post graduate experience in marine/port/coastal design
  • Engineer license required (multi state preferred)
  • Aptitude in maritime codes (ASCE, COPRI) and DoD criteria (UFC, UFGC)
  • Ability to supervise staff and coordinate complex technical work
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to policies
  • Flexible to various schedules; ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card (TSA background check)
