Overview In this role you will lead the Quality Operations for Reading Truck Equipment and Masterack, maintaining a strong hands-on presence on the shop floor to drive quality across manufacturing, installation, and upfit processes. You will design and govern quality systems, partner with cross-functional teams, and address customer and regulatory needs to safeguard product quality and business performance. You will shape a culture of prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement at scale, delivering measurable quality outcomes. Responsibilities- Lead Quality Operations across Reading Truck Equipment and Masterack; set goals, metrics, and accountability
- Develop and execute quality strategies aligned with business objectives
- Provide leadership and coaching to quality teams; maintain hands-on shop-floor presence
- Design and improve quality systems, policies, and inspection methods
- Oversee quality documentation, audits, corrective actions, and reporting
- Drive data-driven decision making with quality data and reporting tools
- Manage supplier quality, process capability, and cross-functional support for new product introductions and improvements
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions; promote Lean/Six Sigma practices
- Support customer complaints, escalations, and cross-departmental quality issues
- Monitor key quality measures (defects, scrap, first-pass yield, warranty trends) and drive improvements
Key requirements- 8+ years in manufacturing/production roles; 5+ years in quality leadership
- Experience in commercial vehicle equipment or related industrial manufacturing preferred
- Experience with supplier quality, Lean, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving preferred
- Experience implementing quality systems, digital quality tools, and operational reporting platforms preferred
- Six Sigma certification preferred; QS certifications preferred (CQE/CQM)
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspection controls, and corrective actions
- Hands-on ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments; shop-floor presence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and quality software preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to balance customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and business objectives
