Overview In this role you will drive productivity, quality, and capacity improvements in an automated food manufacturing environment through control systems optimization and capital projects. You will coach maintenance teams, oversee contractors, and implement standards to improve uptime and safety. You will develop SCADA, HMI, MES, and data reporting solutions to deliver measurable performance gains. You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure Food Safety and quality plans align with customer requirements. Responsibilities- Execute electrical, instrumentation, and controls projects within cost, schedule, and performance targets following EPM principles
- Coach and train maintenance staff on electrical automation topics
- Oversee performance of electrical and engineering contractors
- Identify and implement controls optimization opportunities to improve production efficiency and uptime
- Monitor and maintain plant control systems (network health, controller functionality, obsolescence management)
- Establish and maintain electrical, automation, and controls standards
- Develop SCADA, HMI, MES, and data reporting solutions to improve performance and safety
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans and customer requirements
- Interpret customer requirements for production and support groups; establish and audit PCPs, CCPs, and SOPs; take corrective action when procedures are not followed
Key requirements- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
- 3+ years in electrical control system programming, electrical design, power distribution, project management, and equipment installations
- Co-op/internship or relevant experience
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA70E and electrical theory
- Ability to read electrical drawings and understand automation programming
- Strong communication skills to discuss technical issues in a business context
- Experience creating flow charts, construction drawings, or similar visuals
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
