Overview Senior Geotechnical Engineer in AECOM's West Region Los Angeles team. You will lead field exploration programs and supervise geotechnical design and construction across infrastructure projects. You'll contribute to project management, client proposals, and cross-disciplinary coordination to deliver safe, scalable ground-engineering solutions. This is a chance to shape high-profile transportation and utility projects while mentoring peers and growing locally focused BD activity.
Responsibilities- Develop and oversee field exploration programs (borings, test pits, CPT, geophysical tests, instrumentation)
- Supervise geotechnical design and construction of foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement, dams, levees, slopes and tunnels
- Oversee design parameter development and geotechnical-related designs for transportation infrastructures and earth structures
- Utilize GeoStudio Suite, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, APILE, Plaxis, Settle3, and DeepSoil for analyses
- Prepare and review geotechnical work plans and submittals; ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations
- Review design plans/specifications and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams; propose design improvements
- Review construction submittals and RFIs; mentor junior engineers
- Engage in client meetings and proposals; manage project scope, schedule, and budget
- Manage projects and people to achieve on-time delivery within budget
- Support local BD efforts and contribute to proposals
Key requirements- BA/BS in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency
- Valid driver's license
- California PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 6+ years of relevant Civil/Geotechnical experience

- Effective communication with multiple disciplines and clients
- Flac 9.0 (2D/3D) modeling
