Overview

In this role you will contribute to PTME and New Model Powertrain Programs, advancing casting and forging manufacturing capabilities. You will work within a global Manufacturing team to improve crankshaft forging processes and part design, driving efficiency and flexibility in production. You will lead simulations, process development, and mentor engineers, collaborating with internal and external partners. Responsibilities
  • Lead in-house forging rough part design, part fill, die pressure, and failure mode simulation for crankshafts
  • Develop advanced processes for forging rough part design to optimize final parts for manufacturability
  • Utilize CR/IR process and drive implementation through BOP teams, updating MDS for quality and investment efficiency
  • Collaborate with Machining and PD TE teams to improve crankshaft near-net-shape design, material distribution, and balance
  • Coordinate with PD to identify new manufacturing technologies to meet product requirements
  • Work with internal/external development partners and leverage external labs and suppliers
  • Benchmark global forging technologies and mentor crankshaft engineers in design, analysis, and optimization
Key requirements
  • Min 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in casting and forging
  • Strong knowledge of crankshaft forging processes, rough part design, and forging die design
  • Ability to diagnose process-driven issues through analysis of rough parts and machining line concerns
  • Experience in manufacturing/process engineering and program management for product and facilities programs
  • Familiarity with PolyWorks is a plus
