Overview

In this role you will apply and develop quantum technologies to address complex engineering challenges across multiple domains. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to analyze problems, create engineering solutions, and contribute to project progress from concept to implementation. You may lead small technical teams and help develop junior engineers, while delivering rigorous documentation and supporting technical decisions. This is a chance to shape quantum-enabled capabilities within a collaborative, impact-focused environment at a Malvern site.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quantum engineering activities and technical work packages aligned with project objectives
  • Lead small technical teams and coordinate outputs
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports, plans and specifications
  • Apply systems engineering principles across the project lifecycle
  • Identify, assess and escalate technical risks, issues and dependencies
  • Support technical decision-making through analysis, modelling and engineering evidence
Key requirements
  • Experience in quantum engineering with focus on quantum sensing, navigation or computing
  • Strong foundation in physics, linear algebra, computational science or related engineering fields
  • Experience applying systems engineering processes across the lifecycle
  • Ability to develop technical documentation including requirements, specifications, reports and plans
  • Experience in technical analysis and modelling within a complex engineering environment
  • Effective communication of technical information and collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders
