Overview

As a Staff Engineer in Micron's Firmware & Product Test team, you will steer validation strategy for enterprise SSD firmware and shape test infrastructure. You will lead verification of critical NVMe features and advance AI-enabled validation to improve product quality at scale. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development of scalable test frameworks and automation, influencing cross-functional design decisions. You will mentor engineers, drive data-driven improvements, and partner with teams to deliver reliable storage solutions. This is a high-visibility opportunity to impact firmware quality and testing practices across product lines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead validation strategy and execution for NVMe front-end features across enterprise SSD products
  • Architect and enhance scalable test frameworks to improve automation, coverage, and firmware quality
  • Drive root-cause analysis of complex failures and establish effective debug methodologies and standard processes
  • Define and advance validation infrastructure, including automation, CI/CD integration, regression systems, and reporting tools
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with multi-functional teams to improve testability, influence design decisions, and communicate technical risks
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
  • Expert-level Python programming with automated test framework experience using NumPy, pandas, and Scikit-learn
  • Deep expertise in validation methodologies, test architecture, automation strategy, and firmware/embedded systems verification
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques and generative AI tools to engineering, automation, or failure-analysis challenges
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, strong communication, and mentoring abilities
