Responsibilities- Develop automation solutions across design, software configuration, testing, commissioning and start-up of automated manufacturing processes
- Design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings to meet client requirements
- Diagnose automation problems and interface with teams, clients and vendors
- Configure software and hardware packages per client specifications
- Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADAs (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition)
- Communicate plan progress to project stakeholders
- Manage engineering projects and project deliverables to schedule and scope
- Manage site construction, installation, and start-up support of integrated control systems
- Validate and commission facility systems following execution protocols and turnover to customer
- Make an impact by applying expertise to strengthen client relationships
Key requirements- 3+ years of direct experience as a controls engineer in automated manufacturing environments
- Experience in creating and designing automation control systems (PLC, SCADA)
- Understanding of industrial control panel design and fabrication (UL508A)
- Knowledge of instrumentation and controls (I&C)
- Experience with engineering documentation (P&IDs, process flow diagrams, SOPs)
- Field instrumentation, control system installation, and configuration
- Familiarity with machine safety, electrical power distribution, and panel design
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Willingness to travel 30%-70%
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering or similar field (preferred, not required)
