Transmission Production Cost Analyst

In this role you will advance the economic transmission planning for Xcel Energy's electric power system, using PROMOD and other tools to support planning, regulatory filings, and cost reduction. You will work with senior modelers and regulatory teams to produce forecasts, input production cost data, and evaluate transmission plans. The job blends technical modeling with regulatory support to influence planning decisions and market outcomes. This is an opportunity to shape transmission strategy at a major energy utility.

• Develop energy market forecasts for long-range transmission planning and regulatory filings
• Contribute to direct testimony for regulatory proceedings and respond to information requests
• Produce production cost inputs and uploads for Integrated System Planning
• Perform independent transmission modeling analyses from a risk management perspective
• Assess resource congestion and curtailment on a monthly basis
• Maintain and verify input data and post-process modeling outputs
• Support development of new techniques to improve economic transmission planning processes

• 5+ years of experience analyzing transmission systems
• 3+ years of experience in wholesale energy markets using financial tools/production simulation software
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills
• Knowledge of transmission system modeling and asset performance
