Overview In this role you will join a leading international law firm's Trial & Defense Practice, handling a diverse set of general liability matters. You will work closely with insurers and clients, shaping strategy and managing high-exposure cases. The position emphasizes developing trial and deposition skills, with opportunities for mentorship and rapid responsibility growth. You will contribute to complex litigation from intake through trial while supporting cross-functional teams and advancing litigation goals.

Responsibilities- Manage a litigation caseload of 25-30 matters
- Take and defend depositions, participate in hearings and mediations
- Draft and argue motions, prepare pleadings and briefs
- Prepare detailed correspondence and reporting to clients and carrier representatives
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research tools
- Prepare and respond to written discovery requests
- Review, analyze, and organize documents for production
- Investigate claims, develop case strategy, assess liability and exposure
- Assist in trial and mediation preparation and participate as needed
- Collaborate with partners, clients, and cross-functional teams to advance case objectives
Key requirements- 3-6 years of substantive litigation experience
- Experience defending premises liability, general liability, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation or negligent security matters
- Background handling New York Labor Law claims strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to take and defend depositions
- Superior legal writing, analytical, and research skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work directly with insurer clients and insureds
- Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing
- JD from ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic record
