Overview In this role you will lead Walmart's global origination strategy for long-term energy partnerships, building a scalable pipeline of agreements like PPAs and green tariffs. You will collaborate with Finance, Legal, Sustainability and Operations to create value and decarbonize the enterprise. You'll engage utilities, developers, investors, and policymakers to expand access to affordable, lower-carbon energy. This position combines strategic leadership with cross-functional execution in a mission-driven energy program.

Responsibilities- Build and execute a global origination strategy for long-term commercial agreements and partnerships that support cost, resilience, and decarbonization goals
- Source and evaluate opportunities using financial/scenario analysis and risk assessment (market, credit, regulatory, technology, execution)
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of energy procurement and partnership opportunities across utilities, developers, and emerging energy technologies
- Structure and negotiate complex multi-party, long-duration deals in partnership with Legal/Finance
- Develop and execute long-term commercial partnerships for large-scale energy projects
- Lead cross-functional execution from diligence through approvals, contracting, and performance management
- Develop strategic external relationships with developers, utilities, financiers, and advisors
- Influence market-enabling conditions through policy/regulatory engagement and industry collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing team with clear priorities, coaching, and scalable processes
Key requirements- 8+ years in deal origination, energy procurement, project development, project finance, corporate development, strategic partnerships, or related commercial roles
- Track record negotiating and closing long-term, high-value commercial agreements in energy, infrastructure, utilities, or similar sectors
- Proven ability to originate opportunities and build transaction pipelines in competitive markets
- Strong financial analysis and commercial decision-making (NPV/IRR, contract economics, credit, risk frameworks)
- Experience in regulated or policy-influenced environments (utilities, transportation, etc.)
- Demonstrated people leadership and ability to build teams and align stakeholders
- Executive-level communication skills to translate technical/financial concepts into clear decisions
