Overview As an Architect R.A. at BW Design Group, you will lead architectural design for industrial facilities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver capital projects. You will define facility programs, supervise documentation, and ensure code compliance from concept through construction. You'll partner with engineers and clients to translate production needs into effective spaces, shaping facilities for manufacturing and distribution. Responsibilities- Lead architectural design for industrial projects (manufacturing plants, distribution centers, cold storage facilities, warehouses)
- Stamp and sign architectural construction documents
- Conduct project site visits and act as construction administrator
- Define facility program requirements based on client production flow and space needs
- Conduct code research specific to site, program, and use
- Create renderings to communicate concepts to clients
- Develop base plans and coordinate requirements with other engineering disciplines
- Develop schematic design and material/alternative building method research
- Develop construction documents for permits and construction, and oversee plan preparation
- Respond to RFIs and review submittals/shop drawings during pre-construction and construction phases
- Manage and provide guidance to architectural designers
- Support client relations and project delivery with professional excellence
Key requirements- Specialized knowledge of design in advanced technologies, life sciences, pharma, or food/beverage (preferred)
- Seven+ years of facilities architectural design experience with end-to-end project leadership
- Experience with construction documents for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or food/beverage industries
- Experience in greenfield and renovation projects; ISO clean rooms, labs, processing spaces, cold storage
- Coordination with process engineers on industrial installations (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project
- Willingness to travel for project requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)
- Registered Architect license (RA)
- Master of Architecture (MArch) preferred
