Overview In this role you will support environmental projects in the Washington, DC area, focusing on Remedial Investigations and Site Assessments for federal clients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to plan and execute field investigations, supervise field activities, and deliver technical reports. The position blends field and office work with opportunities to grow into leadership roles, emphasizing safety, client relations, and project execution. Responsibilities- Manage tasks within larger projects
- Plan and lead complex field investigations (drilling, borehole logging, groundwater monitoring, remedial actions)
- Provide technical direction and safety oversight to a multidisciplinary team
- Oversee drilling subcontractors and soil/rock core logging
- Collect samples and manage chain-of-custody documentation
- Prepare technical planning documents and reports with junior staff
- Assist with proposal writing and cost estimating
- Coordinate subcontractor procurement and service delivery
- Assist with permits and access agreements with agencies and stakeholders
- Engage with federal and private clients and support site visits and planning meetings
- Support planning and implementation of remedial actions
Key requirements- Bachelor in Geology or related science
- 2+ years of post-graduation relevant environmental consulting experience (federal/state/private) or equivalent
- Valid US driver's license
- US citizenship (sponsorship not available)
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide
- Field experience overseeing drilling and monitoring well installation
- Comfort with field work and supervising staff and subcontractors
- Strong written and spoken communication
- Ability to lead junior staff and foster teamwork
