Overview As a Quality Engineer 3, you will lead quality assurance for manufacturing processes and products. You collaborate across Engineering, Quality, and Operations to drive improvements and ensure critical characteristics are met. You'll develop inspection methods, support root-cause analysis, and contribute to Stage-Gate and NPI efforts. This role offers the opportunity to shape manufacturing quality across the plant while upholding safety and integrity in a high-stakes domain.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute quality control/quality assurance activities with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations
- Define critical characteristics and in-process inspection methods for components
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to align priorities and track performance metrics
- Participate in design and drawing reviews and develop new inspection methods
- Support Engineering Change Process (ECP) and Temporary Deviations (TDs) as needed
- Execute quality workflows within DDI (NIP) system and related processes
- Lead RCCA/CAPA, DMAICs, and Kaizens for product and process quality issues
- Coordinate First Article Inspections (FAIs) for internally manufactured parts
- Support release processes for customs and special builds; verify requirements before production
- Contribute to Stage-Gate/NPI quality deliverables
- Train personnel on corrective action processes and quality tools
- Recommend and drive manufacturing quality improvements with M.E. team
- Develop and implement Process Control Plans (PCPs) for products
- Perform capability studies and statistical analyses to improve quality
- Support visual management and team board metrics updates
- Engage in continuous improvement for Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity
- Contribute to company standards on integrity, safety, and a positive environment
- Perform other duties as needed by management
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or related field; 5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent
- 5 years minimum engineering or related experience
- Knowledge of standard quality concepts, practices, and procedures
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and record-keeping
- Self-motivation and willingness to work extra hours
