Overview As a Senior Project Engineer at CF Industries in Yazoo City, you will lead capital projects from concept through successful implementation, balancing budget and schedule while prioritizing EHS and PSM. You'll collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver value-driven design, procurement, and start-ups. This role supports the site's mission to safely and reliably operate facilities within a disciplined capital program. You will shape projects that enable the plant to perform at scale and contribute to the company's clean energy objectives.
Responsibilities- Prepare capital estimates, budgets, scope documents and schedules for proposed or approved projects
- Develop and optimize assigned projects, clarifying objectives, evaluating alternatives and presenting findings to customers
- Ensure project work is defined and executed in a safe, legal, and environmentally responsible manner
- Manage project scope including design, procurement, contracting, permitting, and execution to meet business value
- Review technical specifications and provide engineering support to Operations and Maintenance
- Lead procurement efforts and specify process equipment components
- Collaborate with operations personnel to ensure successful project implementations and start-ups
- Contribute to team goals and deliver related results as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET-accredited university
- Minimum 10 years of process engineering experience in the chemical process industry
- Skills in process modeling, unit operations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, equipment specification and process hazard analysis
- Hands-on experience in a chemical production unit
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work as a team player and manage formal/informal project documentation
